ENT is VIGO System’s Epitaxy Division that produces high-grade III-V compound semiconductor epitaxial structures for photonic devices (F-P, VCSEL, QCL lasers, photodetectors), microelectronic devices (diodes, transistors) and others. We focus on highly innovative products for wireless, TC, sensing, or printing applications.

What We Do

We create atomically engineered epitaxial layers of binary, ternary, quaternary and quinary III-V compound semiconductor by MOCVD epitaxy, which is the deposition of thin crystalline films (1nm to several micrometers) on GaAs or InP substrates.

Our epi-wafers are characterized by precisely controlled thickness, chemical composition, photonic and electrical properties as well as excellent uniformity and reproducibility, demonstrated with our state-of-the-art measuring tools.

Wlodek Strupinski, Head of Epitaxy Division

Wlodek has more than 35 years’ experience in III-V semiconductor compounds technology for micro- and opto-electronics, silicon carbide compounds for high-power electronics, graphene and other 2D nanomaterials. He specializes in metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE/MOCVD) of GaAs-, InP-, GaN-related, SiC and graphene.

His research interest includes epi-structures for transistors, microwave diodes, varactors, lasers, photodetectors, waveguides, LEDs, QDs, SOA, etc. He has developed many epitaxial technologies which later were successfully used in the commercial production of epi-wafers and electron devices. He also has expertise in developing and managing projects for government and the EU, such as the Graphene Flagship Project.

The epitaxy division’s team of professionals offer in-depth knowledge of and wide experience in the semiconductor industry. With backgrounds in physics, chemistry, electronics and material science, the team has compiled a proven track record in III-V semiconductor epitaxy, material characterisation and device processing.
