ENT, Vigo System’s epitaxy division, producing high-grade III-V compound semiconductor epitaxial for photonic and micro-electronic applications, has leveraged its core technological capabilities to extend its epiwafers offerings to other innovative products:
- Quantum cascade laser diodes with the emission wavelength ranging from the MWIR to the LWIR (3.5 – 20 mm) for spectroscopic applications such as remote sensing of environmental gases and pollutants in the atmosphere; for security such as vehicular cruise control in conditions of poor visibility, collision avoidance radar or industrial process control; for medical diagnostics applications such as breath analyzers, as well as for identification and quantifications of complex heavy molecules found in toxic chemicals, explosives and drugs.
- VCSEL – the vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser with the laser resonator consisting of two distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) mirrors parallel to the wafer surface with a multi quantum well active region, used in communication systems, LIDARs, printers, time-of-flight sensors, autonomous vehicles, robots and drones.
- IR Photodetectors on the basis of MOCVD compound semiconductors such as InGaAs.
